Group A of ESL Pro League Season 18 is done and dusted after a weekend with several twists and turns.

In the upper bracket of the group, Vitality only lost 42 rounds in total during the three matches they played in the group. The BLAST.tv Major Champions from Paris look destined for another deep run at the tournament, where they have now secured a spot in the quarter-finals.

In the upper final of the group, Vitality won 2-0 against Movistar Riders. The Spaniards had been the big positive surprise in the group with victories against FURIA and GamerLegion in the initial stages of the group, but in the group final they never stood a chance against Vitality.

Movistar Riders is ready for the 2nd Playoff Round in the tournament. Astralis and FURIA took 3rd and 4th in the group. The Danes won three straight matches in the lower bracket after their disappointing start to the tournament where they lost to NIP. In-game leader Benjamin "blameF" Bremer was the highest-rated player in all three wins and finished group A only bested by Vitality's Spinx on the individual rating scoreboard.

FURIA had to play six matches before they could secure a spot in the playoffs. In the Last Chance Stage, FURIA won overtime wins in both of their matches against Grayhound and GamerLegion to finally qualify. As per usual Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato was the main star for the Brazilians.
