FURIA coach on 0-2 start: The guys were worrying about their future
There is a lot of pressure on the Brazilian superteam at PGL Major Copenhagen, according to Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira.
Yesterday evening, FURIA cemented an extraordinary comeback at the PGL Major after turning a disastrous 0-2 score into a qualification for the next stage in Copenhagen.
The Brazilians already faced elimination following the conclusion of the first day.
Something, which affected the profiled roster mentally, head coach Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira revealed in a post-match interview with PGL.
- After day one, I saw the guys worrying about their future. But the next day I said to them that they didn’t need to worry because we have worked a lot to be here and I’m sure we would go 3-2. After today’s game, I said “I told you guys”. It’s important to us because we have to build resilience after the beginning of this year.
Later on in yesterday’s interview, guerri elaborated on the mental side of things and the pressure surrounding the FURIA roster.
- I’m talking a lot [to the players] that they should not think about the past of the future. They have a lot of baggage and pressure from home – the Brazilian crowd. We just have to think about the present and do what we are training for.
The Elimination Stage – formerly known as the Legends Stage – is set to kick off today at 13:00 (CET), where superstar teams such as Spirit, FaZe, Vitality and G2 will join the competition.
FURIA’s first challenge will be against Nikola “NiKo” Kovac, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov and the rest of G2. That match is planned to start at 16:00 (CET).
